The Ministry of Local Government has supported NFA in the construction of Fire Stations around the country—the latest were at Lami and Nakasi, which were commissioned by the Prime Minister in the fiscal year 2019/20. The Prime Minister, Honourable Voreqe Bainimarama at the opening of the Lami Fire Station with Minister for Local Government, Hon Premila Kumar and Minister for Health Hon Iferemi Waqanabete. Government had invested a total sum of $1.2m for the construction and consultancy cost for each fire station.
